The German District ("we", "us") runs thegermandistrict.in, a membership community for Skoda and Volkswagen owners in India. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how to get it deleted.
You sign in exclusively with Google. We receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. We don't support or store passwords of our own.
Your application details are reviewed by an admin to approve or reject membership. Once approved, your name, city, and car details are visible to other members, the same way they would be in any owners' community. We send transactional email (application status, replies to your posts, comments on your photos) and, occasionally, updates about the community. You can also opt into push notifications in your browser. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
We use a small number of service providers to run the site: Supabase for our database, authentication, and file storage, Vercel for hosting, and Resend for sending email. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms; none of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes. We don't share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Marketplace listings and drive posts are visible to other approved members so they can contact you about them. We are not a party to any transaction or meetup arranged between members; see our Terms of Service for details.
We use session cookies solely to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by writing to thegermandistrict@gmail.com. We'll remove your profile, posts, and messages within a reasonable time, other than records we're required to keep for legal or security reasons.
We may update this policy as the platform changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
