Base variants of the Virtus 1.0 TSI get fairly weak halogen fog lamps stock. Been researching upgrade options for the Delhi NCR fog season, sharing what I have found so owners do not have to redo this research from scratch. Roughly ordered by how many owners here seem to have actually gone this route:
- Direct-fit LED fog bulb replacement (H8/H11 depending on your production batch) - cheapest entry point, plug and play into the stock housing, noticeably brighter than halogen.
- Projector-style aftermarket fog lamp housings - full housing swap, better beam cutoff so you are not blinding oncoming traffic, more involved fitment.
- DRL-integrated LED fog housings - same as above but with a running light ring, mainly a styling choice.
- Selective yellow/amber LED bulbs - genuinely useful for NCR fog season specifically, cuts through fog better than white light.
- Standalone LED light bar mounted below the bumper - only if you actually go off-tarmac occasionally, overkill for pure city use.
- Relay harness upgrade - only needed if you are adding auxiliary lights beyond the stock fog lamp wiring, prevents overloading the stock circuit.
One flag for anyone doing this: check your local RTO rules on aftermarket lighting colour and placement before fitting anything that changes beam colour or adds lights outside the stock housing location.
