It is always recommended to redline your car every 300-500 kms if it is GDI or TSI engine. Now, in order to do redlining, You do not have to redline the car by dangerously driving it. You can switch to 80 kmph cruise control for 5-7 mins, in 3rd gear with 3.5k+ rpms and still get 14-15+ kmpl mileage.
This is not recommend to be done for longer period of time, and only recommeded to be done for 5-10 mins.
