DQ200 DSG, my honest experience after 3 years and 45000 km

Question

Writing this because I read a lot of scare stories before buying my Virtus GT and want to add a balanced data point.

3 years, 45000 km, DQ200 dry clutch 7 speed automatic. No mechatronic failures. Slight hesitation in stop and go traffic in first gear which is normal for this gearbox, not a fault. Did the gearbox oil change at 40000 km as recommended, cost about 12000 rupees.

My honest take: this gearbox punishes neglect. If you service it on time and don't ride the clutch in bumper to bumper traffic, it should be fine. If you skip services, you are gambling.

This matches my experience on the Rapid TSI, service on time and it behaves. Skipped one interval on a friend's Vento and the judder got noticeably worse.

Good writeup. Adding to this, always ask for genuine VW DSG oil, not a generic equivalent, the service centers sometimes try to substitute.

3 years in on my Slavia DSG as well, zero issues, but I babied it in traffic which probably helped.
